Practical Simulations For Highly Distributed Systems

The LiveEngage platform is built from over 130 different services. It is deployed to, and being served from, 7 different production data-centers worldwide. LiveEngage is developed by many different R&D teams from several countries.

Providing a common and shared infrastructure for simulating near to real-life usage for this product is a daunting though important task. This infrastructure is very important, considering that it needs to be used for anything from very high volume load testing to internal CI performance regression testing.

In this talk we began by presenting you our journey toward the solutions, the processes that we came up with and how they are being used in the day-to-day of our R&D organization.
Afterwards (and most importantly) we presented the Open-Source project that the platform we created is based on.
